Rather, showing up for our community is. 

Our name was founded as a play on having runway ready style and being socially conscious. Fashion is deeply embedded in the political, social justice and human rights history of our society, down to the type of stitch. The abbreviation for Runway Riot was inspired by Jolie’s 9 years of military service, where the return home from a deployment was followed by two weeks of rest and recovery, often called R&R. This two-week period is the time to rest, connect with those around you and find your footing for what is next. R&R symbolizes the intricate relationship between social advocacy and textiles; taking pride in our identity and fighting for our neighbors.
